Okay, I have been absent from school for two weeks, and therefore missed quite a lot of school, I have however not been absent from the aspect of art.
I was at a camp in South-America, where we looked at different aspect of life, cultures and opinions through music, which is a form of art and therefore relevant to this blog.
We campers created a camp song, on the tune of Hotel California by the Eagles.
I present to you, the camp song of the camp in Guatemala:
Welcome to the Camp in Guatemala…
We all started the Journey to meet people we don’t know
Both from near and from far we left
It was a trip to go, very near in the future
We were gonna make friends
All of them to remember, no one to forget
There we met in the Doorway, and we started feel
The friendship running through our veins, which we started to build
Then we did energizers and tried to learn our names
It was hard at first, but that would soon change
Refrain:
Welcome to the Camp in Guatemala
Celebrating peace
In a way we’ll miss
Plenty of fun at the camp in Guatemala
At this time of year
You can find us here
We are here in Guatemala, we are all holding hands
We got a lot of pretty boys and girls, and we are all friends
We came in December, 3 weeks ago
And we have the feeling like it was yesterday
So we called up a meeting: “Please let us stay late!” –
They say: “ You can do whatever you want – but respect your mates” (common sense)
And still those leaders are warning about the shapes of love
Waking up at every morning at 8 but we are always late.
(Refrain)
Holes in the wall and broken windows too
There are a lot of bad things happens
We don’t know what to do
We stand in line for camp shop
But there’s no more milky ways
Camp is coming to an end
And we only have a couple more days
(Refrain)
Last thing I remember, we were crying our goodbyes
I never want to leave this place
Because the friendship never dies
“Relax” said my leader
You might see them again
I don’t think you will ever forget your summercamp friends
(Refrain)
So, that was the art I worked with during my absence from school.
